Throughout the planning process, community members will have several chances to participate, share their thoughts, and help shape a plan that truly reflects residents’ values and aspirations.

Public Survey

Launching in July and closing late August, the online public survey is designed to gather meaningful feedback from residents on roadway safety, multi-mobility, and future improvements.

Join us at the SARTA Cornerstone Transit Center on Wednesday, August 12th, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. We will have interactive boards set up on the corner of Cherry Avenue and 2nd Street. If you’re in the area, come say hi!

Stakeholder Meeting(s)

The project team will be hosting stakeholder meetings to ensure a variety of groups are engaged. Understanding the needs of all user groups on Akron’s roadways is critical to planning for safer streets.

Safety Action Plan Committee

The plan is guided by local leadership and experts on the Safety Action Plan Committee. As strategic points throughout the planning process, the committee will meet to:

  1. Provide guidance on the development of the plan

  2. Assist in developing plan goals and objectives

  3. Help distribute project information to communities

  4. Review and provide input on plan recommendations
