What is Vision Zero?
Vision Zero, Road to Zero, and Toward Zero Deaths all support the idea that no one should die or suffer serious injury in road traffic crashes. According to the U.S. CDC, the concept:
“has gained considerable traction across the world and has evolved into a highly successful road safety strategy. This vision supports the Safe System approach to road safety. In the United States, many cities, counties, and communities have accepted the challenge of zero road traffic deaths and major reductions in injuries. The Collaborative Sciences Center for Road Safety has multiple Vision Zero resources available, including a U.S. Vision Zero Plan Library and other related resources.”
What are Complete Streets?
According to the Ohio Department of Health,
“Complete Streets are streets designed and built for all travelers. When streets are designed for all modes, they are safer, more comfortable, and more convenient for people of all ages and abilities to walk, bicycle, take public transit, or drive a motor vehicle. A Complete Streets policy establishes the foundation for ensuring that all streets in a community serve all users, either through new construction or redesign of existing streets”
